If you haven't tried a Velvet Kitten dance-fitness class, try one this week! Burlesque Body Sculpt is offered on Monday from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, and again on Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.
Burlesque Body Sculpt incorporates burlesque basics dance movement in a tone-and-tease dance class designed to build strength, stamina, improve flexibility, coordination, and body tone.
This burlesque workout isn't for the timid! The first 15 minutes are centered on a warm- up designed to stretch and work on body isolations. After warm up we move to a 7-minute abs workout, and then switch to a killer bicycle crunches/push-up combo. Next we hit the barre (not that one, the good old fashion Ballet one!) and using classical dance exercises continue toning, strengthening, and sculpting your fabulous physique. Now on to the dance floor! With sassy and fun choreography, the last part of class focuses on burlesque style dance movement.
These classes are currently offered weekly at the Verandah Club in Dallas (2201 Stemmons Fwy) behind the Hilton Anatole Hotel. The entrance to the Verandah Club is on Wycliff. Contact us for more details on parking at the Verandah, and any additional questions regarding our classes.
All drop in students are welcome! The drop-in rate is $15.00 per class. Try us out in February, and sign-up in March! (Verandah Club members receive discounted rate)

Last chance to RSVP to our Velvet Kittens' Valentine's Follies
~A Valentine's Variety Show of DFW's Finest Talent~
Tonight's show features the debut of lovely new Kittens, the return of the fantabulous emcee Johnny Johnson, featuring the vocals of the sensational Ruby Sapphire, starring the Velvet Kitten Dancers Skye Vega, Bianca Suite, and Stevie Swan. Special guests include the return of the traditional Egyptian belly dancer Aisha Aladeen, a number with our Velvet Kitten Burlesque Students from our Vixen Workshop series, and of course the ever popular and only brolesque performer in DFW, Danny-boy.
The Valentine's Follies show is tonight, Feb. 13 at 10:30pm. Seating begins at 10pm. Seats are still available to RSVP through 5pm by our website. After which, remaining seats will be available at the door. Admission is $10.00 per person, and all proceeds go to a local battered woman's shelter. Pay in cash, or by check to the receiving charity, at the door. The Velvet Kittens' Valentine's Follies is at the Stone Cottage Theatre located at15650 Addison Road, Addison, TX 75001.

The Tempting and Tantalizing Tami
The menagerie of performances that comprises my career spans the magnificent to the mundane. In Washington DC, I performed for the President at the annual Kennedy Center Honors. In Fort Worth, I vanished and reappeared as a magician's assistant at Casa Mañana. In New York, I tap danced on Broadway, and in Grapevine, I hee-hawed around as a saloon girl at the Gaylord Texan. I've danced at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta and taught line dancing at Billy Bob's. I've danced at the Orange Bowl. I've danced in a boxing ring. I've been a casino showgirl and a go-go dancer in a cage. I've been a back-up dancer for Dr. John and an Elvis impersonator. I have even appeared on a reality TV show - really.
The Charming and Charismatic Christina (aka Claudia Carnality)
Christina is a graduate of the University of Colorado, having majored in Political Science-American politics and with a minor in communication. Her dance training began as a child, with an emphasis in jazz and lyrical. Christina also competed on a national championship team, dance/pom team, was a cheerleader, performed exotic dance. And is currently deciding upon graduate school to study Law. Christina is interested in how art in all forms can communicate and provoke political and social thought.
The Sizzling and Scintillating Sandra (aka GiGi)
Sandra holds a B.A. in Costume Design from St. Edward's University. She has worked behind the scenes designing and costuming for numerous theatrical productions and films in Austin and Fort Worth. She has been studying dance singe the age of 3, has taught different forms of dance classes (including Ballroom), and choreographed many College productions. She is excited to be making her first appearance with the Velvet Kittens tonight.
The Luscious and Lovable Lisa (aka Lisa Gianni)
Lisa has lived in many places including California, Mexico, and Texas, is bilingual (Spanish and English), and half Mexican and half Iranian. At the age of 10 she began acting, singing and dancing, soon started performing on local TV networks singing and dancing, and commercials. By the age of 14 she began choreographing dances for "quinceaneras" and performing at parties. Lisa also had time to squeeze in some cheerleading before going to Law school, and eventually left school behind to return to the stage. Lisa received dance certification for Ballroom, Latin and American dancing. She is extremely happy to be able to continue dancing with these amazing girls called the Velvet Kittens!

We still have seats available for our Velvet Kittens' Valentine's Follies show this Saturday night, Feb. 13th at the Stone Cottage Theatre located at 15650 Addison Road, Addison TX 75001. Show starts at 10:30pm; seating begins at 10pm.

HOW TO RSVP:
Contact us here with your name and the number of seats you would like to reserve for our Valentine's Follies show. You will receive a confirmation email. We also suggest you include a contact number. We will be taking reservations through Saturday afternoon by email. Reservations for this show can only be made through the Velvet Kittens. Singles, couples, and group reservations welcome!
ADMISSION:
Admission is $10.00 per person. This is also a charity show. The location is sponsored by MBS Productions, and all performers and tech have donated their personal time for this cause. All proceeds go to a local battered woman's shelter. You may make your donation in cash at the door, or you may write a check to the actual charity.
FAQ about our show:
What is the age limit? We allow 18 and up!
Will there be tickets at the door? Yes, but as it goes…first come basis.
Will there be appetizers available? There will be food items you can purchase, but they fall more into the movie theater treats than typical appetizer menu.
Are there alcoholic beverages available? Yes, and they are available on a pay-by-donation basis.

This burlesque workshop takes place tomorrow, Feb. 6, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at EIM Dance Studio (3401 W. Airport Fwy, Ste 210, Irving, TX 75062). This workshop is $35.00. February Weekly Burlesque Class Schedule

Burlesque Body Sculpt
Mondays - 7:00 - 8:00 pm
Saturdays - 1:00 - 2:00 pm
Sculpt your body to a dancer's physique! Work most all the major muscle groups, build strength and stamina, and improve flexibility and coordination by using classical and contemporary dancers exercises and incorporating burlesque basics dance movement in this tone-and-tease dance class designed by the VK. Burlesque Body Sculpt is a fantastic, fun, and exciting approach to dance-fitness, toning and strengthening, and getting a head start on your resolutions! Jana Edele, choreographer and lead dancer for the Velvet Kittens, is the instructor for these classes.
Cost:
These classes are offered in a four week series. Drop-in rate per class is $15.00.
$50 (includes one class a week for four weeks);
$85 (includes two classes a week for four weeks)
Members of Verandah Club receive discounted rate of $30 (one class a week) and $65 (2 classes a week)
Please pay at the Verandah Club front desk before class.
What to expect from class: a warm-up and stretch segment for the first 15 minutes set to upbeat music, followed by some toning and ab work. The second half of the class is dance choreography targeted to the level of those in attendance. Learn some of the dances that you see the Velvet Kittens perform on stages all over the DFW area!
What to wear to class: fitness clothes or leggings and a long shirt. Avoid shorts without tights or legging underneath or loose clothing, as there is a lot of bending over. Shoes are not worn in class, but you may wear fitness or dance shoes if you like.

The Valentine Vixen - Burlesque Workshop

The Vixen Series focuses on conventional and contemporary burlesque dance moves in sophisticated choreography. Powerful, playful, and classy burlesque movement is incorporated into one complete dance number, and focused on for the inclusive workshop session.
These dances are designed for a tête-à -tête at home performance. The Vixen Workshops make a great gift, or holiday aphrodisiac!
For February we are offering The Valentine Vixen Burlesque Workshop. This is also a great way to participate in a burlesque class without the monthly obligation of attendance.
