The Velvet Kittens are back on stage tonight! Located in Dallas at Hyena's Comedy Nightclub in Mockingbird Station, the Velvet Kittens present our Thursday night burlesque floorshow, Sugar Moonlight. Dancing to the blues and jazz from the Shish Boom Band, this VK spectacular takes you on a journey to the Rat Pack days of Vegas!

The Kittens are posed with this question from time to time, and our answer here is broad to the world of burlesque:
Burlesque is a form of theatrical entertainment. There are many elements that can be included on a burlesque stage: comedians, actors, singers, dancers, musicians and specialty acts. Shows can include a variety of different types of performers, or may focus on showcasing one of the burlesque elements. The Velvet Kittens combine all genres of performers in an ensemble variety show, alternating singer and dancer soloists, skits, stand up comedy, live music, and ensemble dances. Other shows may feature an assortment of independent solo artists or groups in their burlesque revue.
As burlesque is an artistic expression for each performer, the types of performances vary uniquely to each show and each performer. In today's burlesque scene, this has produced a large spectrum of performances, from costuming, concepts, musical selections; even what part of burlesque history is being revived on the stage. The best suggestion to know what you can expect to observe on the stage is watch video footage on line of the performers or show you are interested in seeing, and the marketing material on their websites.
Our ultimate advice is to approach a burlesque show as a combination of theater and a musical concert. Performers are playing a role or character on the stage, and their job is to simply entertain you with each routine presented on stage. Cheers and applause is always welcomed during and after each number, much like one would feel comfortable expressing at a rock concert. Flash photography can be disruptive to the audience, and may be blinding to the performers, so it's best to seek approval from each individual venue or show.

The Velvet Kittens will be auditioning this week!
Calling all DFW talent: Singers, dancers, comedians, specialty acts, and anyone who has ever wanted to play in a vaudevillian-burlesque show!
We are looking for specialty acts, singers, solo and ensemble dancers and singers for our vaudevillian-burlesque shows, as well as female solo dancers for our Sugar Moonlight show, and for our upcoming Fort Worth show.
Female ensemble dancers are for our monthly vaudevillian-burlesque show at Rembrandt's Dutch Pub . This is a great training ground for those new to performing, or lacking in training, and looking to build their resume and gain performance experience.

It's show time for the Velvet Kittens' Yankee Doodle Candy at Rembrandt's Dutch Pub!
Tonight there's a special event in West End, but don't worry about parking… The lot in front of Rembrandt's Dutch Pub is reserved for patrons of the Pub, and the Velvet Kittens' fantastic audience. And remember, the parking is free!

It's time once again for a Velvet Kitten vaudevillian-burlesque show at Rembrandt's Dutch Pub!
July 11 & 25 the Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque will be presenting Yankee Doodle Candy, a variety extravaganza of music, comedy, singing, and dancing!
This Saturday's show features the lovely Velvet Kittens, comedian Dawn Diamond, special guest Danny-Boy, the fabulously funny emcee extraordinaire Johnny Johnson, and special appearance by Ginger Snaps! Ginger Snaps was a featured performer in Hyena's Fort Worth Red Light Burlesque Revue as Pixie, and one of the original burlesque dancers of the Velvet Kittens. We hope you are able to join us in welcoming Ginger back to the Kitten revue shows, as well as enjoy our special July shows featuring some of your favorite patriotic tunes in this VK spectacular!

Join us as we present our final performance of the Velvet Kittens' vaudevillian-burlesque production of "Broadway Burlesque!" 10pm show time. No cover and free parking in the lot in front of Rembrandt's Dutch Pub (703 McKinney Ave, Dallas Tx).
Be sure to bring your funny bone, because tonight's show is starring not only delectable burlesque dancing by the Velvet Kittens, but also incredible comical performances by the hilarious emcee extraordinaire Johnny Johnson, the amusing co-host and special guest artist Pepe Calhoan, and of course, Mr. Brolesque himself, the entertaining Danny-Boy!
Reservations not required, but recommended. And we especially encourage all large parties (bachelor, bachelorette, birthday and anniversary parties, this includes you!) to reserve your table in advance through Rembrandt.
Disappointed at missing tonight's show? We'll be back July 11 & 25 at Rembrandt for "Yankee Doodle Candy!" Feeling frisky this Thursday night? May we recommend our weekly burlesque show, Sugar Moonlight. Show starts at 10:30pm, in Hyena's Comedy Club located in Mockingbird Station next to the Angelica Theater. This 45 minute burlesque spectacular features the lovely Kittens dancing to the luscious blues and jazz by the fantabulous Shish Boom Band! $5.00 admission.
