We are currently casting!!

The Velvet Kittens are scheduling auditions for dancers, singers, comedians, actors, and specialty acts!

The Velvet Kittens perform an on-going burlesque variety show featuring an ensemble cast of dancers, singers, comedians, and actors. Most dance numbers consist of jazz, though tap and pointe pieces are also incorporated into the show based on ability of present talent. Singers perform a variety of musical genres, from jazz, Broadway, to classic rock.

The style of the show is vaudevillian-burlesque, showcasing professionally trained performers in comical and artistic numbers, incorporating solo and ensemble pieces. The Velvet Kittens' shows are established in Dallas, and will be moving shows into Fort Worth as well.

We are looking for performers to expand our current cast, and offer alternating positions to accommodate professional performer's schedules/commitments. Rehearsals are scheduled around performers' teaching and current performance schedules (and work schedules). This is a great experience for those with a budding performance career, learning to deal with the demands of theatrical entertainment and live shows, as well as keeps the experienced performer "on their toes."

Dancers must be minimum 18 years of age, height/weight proportionate, with training. Singers must be minimum18 years of age, with training. Please send headshot/resume and short bio to le_cabaret_burlesque@yahoo.com. Please note on the subject line you are submitting for an audition.

Velvet Kitten News Bulletin

Check your inhibitions at the door….

Beginning in August, the Velvet Kittens are adding something extra special to our Rembrandt monthly vaudevillian-burlesque extravaganzas: we're bringing back our inhibition check.

At 10:00 pm mix and mingle with your friends, VK fans, and Kittens as we "check your inhibitions."

You: What in the heck is an inhibition check?

Us: It's our tagline…and our gimmick.

You: Still confused…

Us: We give you a raffle ticket (yeah, it's very elementary school carnival), and enter you into a drawing.

You: For what?

Us: A special thank you surprise donated by one of our supporters and sponsors.

You: Do I have to pay for this raffle ticket?

Us: Nope. Everyone at the show receives a ticket.

You: That is awesome!

Us: We know.

………………………………………………………………………………..

Here are the rules: the Kittens will "check you inhibitions" before the show at 10:00pm. The show begins after the Kittens have made their rounds. The drawing takes place after the show. You must receive your ticket prior to the show starting, and be present at the end of the show for the drawing to win.

~Our Rembrandt shows have been packed…make reservations in advance to guarantee seating!~
