Calling all vaudevillians and specialty acts! The Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque present a whole new vaudevillian-burlesque-cabaret extravaganza! Announcing the first VK show of the new year: The Velvet Kittens' Valentine's Follies!
When: Feb. 13th
Time: 10:30 pm
Where: Stone Cottage Theatre (Addison, TX)
Why: Annual Valentine's Show/Charity Show
We are looking for solo and group acts, specialty acts, dynamic duos and ensemble oddities! Test your comedic and entertainment skills in a true variety show, and share the stage with some of DFW's most extraordinary and versatile working talent! Actors, singers, comedians, sketch comedy groups, dance groups or soloists, jugglers, sword swallowers, belly dancers, impersonators, original skits…whatever act you want to bring to the stage in a true vaudevillian-style of headliner entertainment!
We are open to all types of skilled entertainers! But…first come, first served. There is limited availability for novelty performers and metroplex entertainers in the Velvet Kitten variety shows.

DANCER AUDITIONS

The Velvet Kittens are concluding dancer auditions for our upcoming Feb. show. If you would like to schedule an audition time, please contact us.
Please meet the following criteria:
~Minimum 18 yoa
~Professional Demeanor
~Classical training
~Some to extensive Jazz training
~Height/weight proportionate
~Please be sure to include a working and correct email address and phone number. We have been unable to return some emails due to incorrect information. If you have submitted info and not received a return email or phone call, please re-submit and include all contact information.
If you do not meet the above requests, we offer performance invitational workshops throughout the metroplex, in which you are invited to perform with the VK. If you are interested in becoming a permanent VK dancer but do not meet the requested criteria, we recommend enrolling in one of our weekly burlesque classes, as well as a local ballet class for technique prior to auditioning.

Sex, Lies, and Violins…
Talent and temperament collide in a behind-the-scenes look at one of the world's finest string quartets. The famous ensemble threatens to unravel when its most gifted member goes missing and a young woman is hired to take his place.
Rehearsals will begin on January 18th and the show will run February 11th through March 13th with performances on Thursday evenings @ 7:30pm, Friday and Saturday evenings @ 8:00pm, and Saturday afternoons @ 3:00pm.
Equity and non-Equity roles are available.
Circle Theatre is a member of the Equity Membership Candidacy Program
The Theatre requests actors read scripts before auditioning.
Perusal copies are available at Circle Theatre and S.T.A.G.E. (for members only)
Actors will be assigned cold readings from the script and may also present a
1-minute prepared contemporary monologue (optional).

Weekly Classes:

Burlesque Body Sculpt: A Saucy, Seductive Workout to Build Attitude, Confidence and Muscle, incorporates classical and contemporary dance exercises with burlesque dance movement and mood appropriate music to create a fun and playful tone-and-tease dance class. The end result is an all around workout of most all the major muscle groups, strength and stamina, flexibility and coordination, and attitude and confidence. Burlesque Body Sculpt is a fantastic, fun, and exciting approach to dance-fitness, toning and strengthening, and getting a head start on your resolutions!
Burlesque Basics is an introduction of burlesque dance with simple exercises and combinations, basic dance terminology, and proper execution of movement, isolations, and performance. Burlesque Basics is a great beginning foundation for those new to burlesque dance. Fitness benefits include stretching, improving posture, core strength, and leg toning.
Free class: Intro to Burlesque Body Sculpt is every Monday night in December, 6:30 - 7:00 pm at the Verandah Club. Non-members should call for a guest pass to attend the free class: 214-761-7895. (guest pass not needed for other burlesque classes at the Verandah Club).

Beulaville Baptist Book Club
presents: A Bur-less-Q
Nutcracker!
Why should you see this rendition of a Burlesque Nutcracker?
1. Comedy. This show will have you smiling and laughing from the beginning to end.
2. The Velvet Kittens. This MBS Production is not only inspired by the Velvet Kittens, but also features it's very own saucy Velvet Kitten cast.
3. Danny-Boy will be in the audience tonight. Yes ladies, he is single.
4. See a twist to a holiday tradition. You'll never be able to hear this Tchaikovsky score or see the Nutcracker in quite the same way again.
5. The choreography. Critics have claimed the choreography by VK choreographer/creator and Mark-Brian Sonna (MBS Productions) as "clever," "borderline genius," "ingenious, inspired and amusing."
6. Relaxation. With the hectic holiday craziness, take a break, enjoy a glass of wine, and sit back for some hilarious entertainment.
7. Window-shopping. This Burlesque Nutcracker runs until December 27. Purchase tickets as a holiday gift for that someone hard to shop for. Hey, you're just previewing the product.
8. Dance and Theater. So rarely are we treated to both great dancing and acting in live theater.
9. Baby, it's cold outside. If you're looking for an excuse to avoid any last minute hanging of lights, this is a great one. "Honey I can't, I gotta see this burlesque show…"
10. Celebration. Nothing celebrates the holidays like a little bump n grind.
