€˜Vaudeville' has been moved from the Lone Star Park to the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, Tx. The show has also been moved from April 17 to April 24th!

Queen of the Dead
The play will be presented at the Stone Cottage Theatre, 15650 Addison Road, Addison, TX 75001, March 18 through April 10, 2010.

A young woman, Persephone, is picking flowers one day. The earth opens up and she's abducted by Hades, Lord of the Dead, and taken to the underworld to reign over the souls of the dead. As Persephone is toured through her new domain she meets noble heros, phantasmagorical creatures, and vile monsters. She arranges her own rescue, but Hades devises a counter plan to keep her for an eternity. Based on the classic Greek Myths, this play is a tour of the underworld.
This surreal, choreographed play will shock, provoke, and comes from the dark recesses of the mind of director/choreographer Mark-Brian Sonna. The play is intended for mature audiences due to violence, intensity, and partial nudity.

The Velvet Kittens at Lone Star Park

Just Announced:
The Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque will be performing at "Vaudeville" on Saturday, April 17th at the Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, TX. "Vaudeville" features a variety of performers, and the dancers and singers of the Velvet Kittens will be headlining the show.
Special packages will be available to include both the horse races and the show, as well as tickets to purchase just for the show. Additional information, pre-sale tickets and packages offered will be available shortly.

Hi there! I was wondering if you offer any type of classes in the Fort Worth or Arlington areas for the month of April. I found the class schedule for April in Dallas, but I’m unable to make it to Dallas. Thanks!
Answer:
I currently am only offering to the public the burlesque class in Dallas for the month of April. I also teach private lessons; if that is something you would like to try before our next class session in Tarrant County. Private lessons can be solo or with a group of friends, and can include a one time workshop session, or weekly classes. I also offer private lessons in home or at dance studios (based upon availability). With a three-student minimum, I will be happy to start a class in your area to begin in the month of April. The other option available is attending our Fort Worth rehearsal as a class. If interested in private lessons, starting a class, or attending the VK rehearsal class, contact me for details.
Burlesque Question

Question:
My friend and I have always talked about taking a burlesque class and we just heard about you. We were wondering if you still have the Basics class or if you are only doing the body sculpt class. Also, I’m not skinny, will that hold me back?
Answer:
I’m currently only teaching the Burlesque Body Sculpt class in April. The women who attend this class are different ages and sizes, and attend to learn burlesque dancing and to have fun. I teach the class as a burlesque dance class, with toning and stretching in a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. I really enjoy teaching, and want my students to have a great time (though I do think they all secretly hate me after the ab workout). If you’re feeling a little intimidated, you can always schedule a private Burlesque Basics class with me.

April Burlesque Body Sculpt Classes

For the month of April our Burlesque Body Sculpt class will be held every Monday night at the Verandah Club (2201 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas TX 75207).
Classes begin at 6:30 pm.
Tuition:
For all April classes (4 classes): $50.00
Drop in rate (per class): $15.00
Classes free for month of April to all Verandah Club members.
About Burlesque Body Sculpt:
With the combination of classical and contemporary dancer exercises, and incorporating burlesque dance movement, sculpt your body to a dancer's physique.
Benefits: Work most all-major muscle groups, build strength and stamina, and improve flexibility.
What to expect from class: a warm-up and stretch segment for the first 15 minutes set to upbeat music, followed by some toning and ab work. The second half of the class is dance choreography targeted to the level of those in attendance. Structure of class designed and choreographed by DFW based choreographer, Jana Edele.
What to wear to class: fitness clothes or leggings and a long shirt. Avoid shorts without tights or legging underneath or loose clothing, as there is a lot of bending over. Shoes are not worn in class, but you may wear fitness or dance shoes if you like.
