The Velvet Kittens offer a variety of burlesque dance classes, dance-fitness classes, and workshops for the inner kitten in you! Whether your goal is to bump & grind, learn a little tease, or shimmy off a few extra pounds, we offer a variety of burlesque style courses to tickle your tigress! The VK burlesque curriculum stems from years involved in the theatrical community of dance, acting, singing, dance instruction, and live entertainment combined with our exclusive style of burlesque dance.
For students looking for a new form of fitness, a hobby, or just a little fun, our unique class curriculum focuses on introducing movement, isolations, posture, and confidence using the basics of traditional classical ballet technique and the concepts of different styles of jazz dance…the backbone and influence of our signature style. Trainer Jana Edele, Founder and Artistic Director of the burlesque dance troupe The Velvet Kittens, incorporates classical and contemporary dance exercises with burlesque dance movement and mood appropriate music to create fun and playful tone-and-tease dance classes. The end result is an all around workout of most all the major muscle groups, strength and stamina, flexibility and coordination, and attitude and confidence. Burlesque dance-fitness is a fantastic, fun, and exciting approach to dance-fitness, toning and strengthening, and getting a head start on your resolutions!
