“The Hot Seat”
Level 1 – Beginner/Intermediate
One of our most popular BBS workshops! Incorporates burlesque style choreography with the featured dance prop: the chair. Song: Sinister Kid by the Black Keys
(4-week series; 60 min. per class)
“The Hot Seat II”
Level 2 – Intermediate/Advanced
“The Hot Seat” – Level 2 workshop is from the Velvet Kittens repertoire. Originally choreographed by request for Island/Def Jam party for the release of the Killers newest CD. Choreography is a cross of old school Vegas mixed with modern burlesque style and is set to “When You Were Young.” This workshop incorporates both the feather boa and the popular dance prop, the chair.
(It is recommended that students be at an intermediate level, having taken at least 3 BBS workshops before taking this class or get approval from Jana)

1 rehearsal workshop – $45

About Brandi:
Brandi Wellborn’s dance training starts early with ballet, tap, and jazz. She found a new love with teaching dance when she began instructing in her teenage years. In 1999 Brandi moved to Southern CA and began experimenting with differ forms of dance and was introduced to the Belly Dancing circuit and her first performance opportunity in the dance troop Emeralds of the Nile. Brandi fell in love with tribal fusion belly dance when she found Rachel Lazarus-Soto teaching in Colton California. When Devadasi was formed 2003, Brandi jumped on the opportunity to be a part of something so special. Moving to Texas Brandi danced in the group Liquid Hips, and then moved on to BellaNaTana. Brandi continues instruction of Tribal Belly Dance at special events and classes throughout DFW.
Velvet Kittens Show!

The Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque will be presenting a full-length revue show at the Can’t Stop the Serenity music showcase! The VK of LCB shows provide a cast of professional dancers, singers, and actors for an evening of comedy, dancing, and live “vintage nightclub” entertainment that’s unlike anything else in DFW! We will also be featuring guest performances by both Dallas and Fort Worth Burlesque Body Sculpt™ student dancers.
Join us Sunday, July 10th at the Fort Worth Grotto (517 University Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76107) at 7:30 pm and help us raise money for a great cause! Tickets/cover: $5.00

About Can’t Stop the Serenity:
Between May and September thousands of people around the world will participate in “Can’t Stop the Serenity” fund-raising events to benefit “Equality Now,” a charity organization working to protect the basic human rights of women and girls across the planet. The volunteers who organize the “Can’t Stop the Serenity” charity events are fans of the sci-fi television series called “Firefly” and its climatic movie, “Serenity.” This annual celebration of equality and Joss Whedon’s birthday is known as “Can’t Stop the Serenity,” and the men and women behind it are simply known as “Browncoats” after the heroes of the show.

Equality Now was founded in 1992 to work for the protection and promotion of the human rights of women around the world. Working with national human rights organizations and individual activists, Equality Now documents violence and discrimination against women and mobilized international action to support their efforts to stop these human rights abuses.

Velvet Kittens Guest Performance

The Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque dancers will be making a guest appearance on Sunday, June 26th at the House of Funk Theatre Company’s showcase. The Bombshell is open for business!
For the month of June we are offering two special Burlesque Body Sculpt™ workshops! The rest of June schedule is filled with a variety of 30-minute “teaser” classes. This is perfect opportunity for new students to take a dip into our dance pool and a try out little bit of everything!
Our June teaser classes include: Burlesque Body Sculpt™ Intro, Flirty Girl®, Hoopnotica®, Coyote U, Hip Hop Hotties, Tribal Belly Dance, Yoga, Rockstar Warm-Up, and introductary classes to some of the more traditional forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap and modern.
Bombshell’s Burlesque Body Sculpt™ Workshops
Wednesday nights (June 15, 22, & 29, 6:45 – 8:00 pm) is the popular and playful “If Loving You is Wrong” workshop, incorporating hats, canes, and chairs.
Saturday afternoons (June 18 & 25, 12:30 – 2:30 pm), we are offering a new workshop to “But I am a Good Girl” from the Burlesque movie soundtrack.

Grand Opening Celebration!

The Bombshell Dance Studio will be hosting our grand opening party on Saturday, June 11, 2011. We will be raffling off BDS punch cards, workshops, Girl’s Night Out parties, and personalized choreography for solo, duet or trio by independent choreographer/BDS artistic director and creator the Velvet Kittens of LCB and the Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ phenomenon, Jana Edele. Performing at the BDS grand opening will be both Dallas and Fort Worth Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ students and the Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque. Doors open at 6:00 pm for mingling, drinks, and appetizers.

June Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ Dallas Workshops

For the month of June our Dallas workshops are focusing on working with the dance prop the fedora! We are also offering two different workshops, one for beginner students, and the second for intermediate/advanced. The Dallas classes are held at the Verandah Club (2201 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas TX 75207). Read below for more information about our classes:
Monday Nights: June 13, 20 and 27
(3 – week series; 75 – minute classes)
“Fedora Fever” – 6:45 pm
This is a beginner/intermediate level class. All students are welcome. This is the original Fedora Fever choreography class that was offered last summer.
“Fedora Fab” – 8:00 pm
This is the new version of Fedora Fever for intermediate/advanced students. It’s recommended that students be at an intermediate level, having taken at least 3 workshops before taking this class or get approval from BBS creator and instructor Jana.
1 workshop series:
$35.00 for Verandah members
$50.00 for non-members who register/pay by June 9
$65.00 for non-members after pre-registration (June 9)
Both classes (for intermediate/advanced students only): $85.00
