Our Nutty Nutcracker on Nightline Segment!

Not only has The Beulaville Baptist Book Club Presents: A Bur-Less-Q Nutcracker, otherwise known as the “Burlesque Nutcracker,” been nominated for the 2011 “Nutty” Award but it will also be featured on ABC’s late-night television news program Nightline!

The Goldsat National Nutcracker Award (aka the “Nutty”) is an annual contest of Nutcracker productions in the nation. Each nominated Nutcracker is chosen “for being one of the most beloved Nutcrackers in the country.”

The “Burlesque Nutcracker” is written by Mark-Brian Sonna, and choreographed by the Velvet Kittens’ very own artistic director/choreographer Jana Edele and Mark-Brian Sonna of MBS Productions, and features it’s own Velvet Kittens cast!

The Bombshell Dance Party

At the Bombshell Dance Studio we’re introducing a new monthly fabulous dance party! To kick things off (and in recognition of National Dance Day), our first Bombshell Dance Party will be Saturday, July 30th, 3:00 – 5:00pm! Read on to find out about the first BDP event:

Dancing, games, contests, and fun await you at the Bombshell Dance Party! July’s Bombshell Dance Party includes the Bombshell Babe’s intro classes, Diva Dance Off, Pole Dance Performance, food/beverages, and more!

The Bombshell Babe’s Intro classes include:

~ Floorplay

~ Lap Dancing

~ Pole Dancing

~ Burlesque

The Diva Dance off is a freestyle contest to win the Bombshell’s ultimate prize! No experience necessary to enter; a daring sense of adventure required!

To be a part of this Bombshell experience, all students must RSVP in advance. Cost: $25.00 per person, all current Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ and Bombshell Dance Studio students receives the discounted rate of $10.00 per person. There are a limited number of students allowed on this guest list. RSVP ASAP!

Grand Opening Celebration!

The Bombshell Dance Studio will be hosting our grand opening party on Saturday, June 11, 2011. We will be raffling off BDS punch cards, workshops, Girl’s Night Out parties, and personalized choreography for solo, duet or trio by independent choreographer/BDS artistic director and creator the Velvet Kittens of LCB and the Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ phenomenon, Jana Edele. Performing at the BDS grand opening will be both Dallas and Fort Worth Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ students and the Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque. Doors open at 6:00 pm for mingling, drinks, and appetizers.

You will be contacted by phone if we are able to accommodate you and your guests. Please note, those not on the guest list will be declined at the door.

June Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ Dallas Workshops

For the month of June our Dallas workshops are focusing on working with the dance prop the fedora! We are also offering two different workshops, one for beginner students, and the second for intermediate/advanced. The Dallas classes are held at the Verandah Club (2201 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas TX 75207). Read below for more information about our classes:

Monday Nights: June 13, 20 and 27

(3 – week series; 75 – minute classes)

“Fedora Fever” – 6:45 pm

This is a beginner/intermediate level class. All students are welcome. This is the original Fedora Fever choreography class that was offered last summer.

“Fedora Fab” – 8:00 pm

This is the new version of Fedora Fever for intermediate/advanced students. It’s recommended that students be at an intermediate level, having taken at least 3 workshops before taking this class or get approval from BBS creator and instructor Jana.

1 workshop series:

$35.00 for Verandah members

$50.00 for non-members who register/pay by June 9

$65.00 for non-members after pre-registration (June 9)

Both classes (for intermediate/advanced students only): $85.00

(All prices are plus tax)

No refunds and no credits forward for other classes. All classes must be attended in the month that they are paid for.

Special Two Hour BBS Workshop in May

We will be offering a special 2-hour Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ workshop on Saturday, May 28 at the Verandah Club (2201 N. Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75207) for students who have not learned a dance yet but who are interested in either simply learning a dance quickly or learning a dance to actually perform on June 11 at the Ft. Worth show. It will be $25 per person, from 5-7pm and is called “The Stripper” and the prop will be a boa.

BBS May Schedule

For the month of May, we will be offering a BBS workshop on Monday nights (May 2, 9, 16, 23), 7:00-8:00 pm, at the Verandah Club in Dallas. Students will be learning a dance from the Velvet Kittens repertoire. This dance incorporates hats, canes, and chairs, and is set the song “If Loving You is Wrong.” Class size is limited, and students must rsvp in advance with Cara Young at 214-761-7895 or cara.young@hilton.com. There are no refunds or credits forward to other classes. All classes must be attended on dates listed for each class/session.

Tuition: $45 if rsvp inadvance. ($60.00 past early registration deadline of April 29)

UPDATE ON FORT WORTH CLASSES

We are moving our Fort Worth classes to a new location, and will begin offering selected workshops and intro classes at the end of May. We will be resuming monthly workshops in June. Check back for information on new location and class schedule.

Bender Backyard Burlesque Party with special guests the Velvet Kittens this Saturday, April 2^nd, at Capital Bar!!! Don’t miss the best dance floor in town, the best drinks in town, the best light show in town, the best hits by BENDER……and of course…..your very own Velvet Kittens this Saturday at Capital Bar!!! Capital Bar is located at 3107 Morton Street, Fort Worth TX. Bender takes the stage at 9:30 pm.
